I had this idea from silence, surprisingly, it led to a huge number of totals sold in less than a week. It was only a mere idea that I created while I was thinking pensively. We should often do this which is to take time and try to turn off our thinking mind, meditate and be in silence, this could help us build ideas that would further lead to our success in practice and in business.

Hey guys! In the last episode that I did, I was talking about, well not maybe at the last episode. Two episodes ago, I talked about working through the silence and doing exercises where you just quiet your mind, and you stop thinking. And how I’ve been using my muse headband for instance almost nightly before I go to bed just to practice how to be quiet. And my mentor does a 10 min silence exercise where basically for 10 min you’re taking yourself out of the thinking mind. Taking yourself out of the physical world in which we live in and emotionally bringing yourself into this intangible world. And it’s in this practice, in this silence which feels like and Lord knows for almost a decade I was that person where I couldn’t sit still if you ask me to. Like sitting and actually watching a movie or a show is just not in my wheelhouse. There’s no way that I’m going to be able to just sit and watch a movie or a show without doing anything else. I just don’t have that attention span. I have to keep my hands busy, I have to be doing something. And when I stop moving, I feel like I immediately lose that momentum or I’m giving up on my business or I’m wasting my time.
Time for me is probably the hugest core value slash like mineral homeopathy trait that I have where I will do anything to conserve my time and not waste it and not these other things. Anyways, I’m going on a bit of a side mention here. Doing the silence, putting yourself into that work allowing your subconscious mind to then take over is where the brilliance happens. And you’ve all experienced this, you’ve experienced this where you’re sitting on the toilet and this brilliant idea came to you. or you’re in the shower you’re washing your hair not thinking about anything and all of the sudden you were like ‘oh I have to send this email’ or even something as subtle as out of nowhere a patients’ name pops into your head and then within an hour you get an email from that person. Or that person books on your schedule, or maybe something even closer like a family member text you and you’re just like ‘oh I was just going to call you’.
All of these things are proof that you are tapped into this energetic universal energy and I firmly believe that the universe is always got my back. It’s always shown me. It’s gotten my back, and so leaning into this I was just doing one of my muse meditations. And we haven’t been putting content out twice a week, we go live on Facebook. And using our Facebook engagement campaign, which is like for 10 cents engagement we are starting to track what videos people love the most. And consistently the physical exam video has been coming up and that video was literally me in my office just being more often than not, when you go into your doctor’s office for a wellness checkup you are expecting your doctor to be thorough and check you head to toe and tell you something is coming up. And that just doesn’t happen in an hour office, what we do are all these urine tests, the physical exams, the body compositions and all these other things. And consistently for weeks it has been the topped ranking and most engaged video.
So we started doing reels on that video, we started reminding our patients it’s in a year, book in your wellness checkup. Which is something we’ve always done, but it’s never been that successful. And the number one thing that was coming up with the video that I did the Facebook ad is people were saying ‘oh I really need this in my life’ where you located? ‘Oh we’re located in Caledonia and Oakville and then people say ‘nope. Too far, it doesn’t work for me.’ Or ‘because of the lockdown restrictions I’m not going to drive out there. I’ll just have to catch up with you on another time.’ So I was doing this active silence and lo and behold the wellness kit comes into my mind. It was literally like a fleeting moment and I had this brilliant idea of packaging up what we could send away for patients to do on their own. And then after they complete all of the testing at home, they would book a 30 min visit with us and we would review all of the results and what they mean and how to progress forward and start with a treatment plan.
I always believe in pitching something before putting the effort in and I was not going to then stick up on 30 kits worth of stuff. I sent an email out on my list and I said ‘hey I just did a meditation and this idea came up to me, would this interest you?’ and then I listed out what would be included all of the testing we would do, what the testing would show and I just said ‘reply back to me if this would interest you.’ within 12 hours my inbox filled up. I think there were at least 15 responses being like ‘yep, this interests me, tell me more about it.’ By the end of the next day I had another 10 emails responded, so I was like ‘okay, this is what people want.’ We priced it out and we included shipping so there’s flat rate shipping you can do all across Canada and it’s for 20 bucks. And I started thinking about ‘okey, how do I get the kits in quickly? What are all the little pieces that we need? What do I need to order off of amazon? Because we have liquid vials that some have lemon juice, some have zinc, and some have baking soda for the burp test. And we had to put them in little containers to mail them away. So I went on amazon and that was my very first purchase. And there was something about this where I knew it was going to be a hit. Because lip service is one thing, sure I’m interested but when it actually comes to making the financial transaction, then that’s something completely different.
So I responded back to all of these emails the following day and I said it’s going to be 140 bucks. We need your credit card on file, there’s a mandatory 30 min visit that we need to follow up after a week of you having this test kit and doing the results and would that still interest you? In less than a week, we sold 27 of these wellness kits. I have been scrambling for days to fill up stock fast enough to fulfil these orders. It was so funny I was like ‘Scott, this was really taking off.’ Scott’s my husband. And I was like ‘we’ve sold over 20 kits in less than a week. People are loving this idea and are filling up our schedule, because now we’re booking these 30 min calls so it’s filling up my team which is amazing. He’s like ‘well now you need to go and get a dragon stand.’ That was his response. He’s response ‘now you need to go and drag stand and pitch it into the dragons.’ And I was like ‘well, we first have to wait and have the girls have been totally tapped out with child slavery, like putting these boxes together all day long before I think the dragons will be interested.’
But what was amazing about all of this, is one; the frustration of using social media is an ongoing issue for a lot of you because you just don’t know what’s landing. You don’t know what’s hitting you, you don’t know what people like, you’re not getting the attraction that you want, and you’re not getting the reach that you want. And for 10 cents an engagement or less, we continuously saw these topics, so it’s kind of rotating a little bit through our digestion lives and things like that. But the physical exam was always number one; it gave us clarity on what common content we need to make more off. Then once we’ve collected the results of where the objections were coming from I tapped into the clarity of how we can overcome that objection. And that birth this idea of the wellness kits. Had we not done that work, had we not put a little bit of money behind that video, had we not tracked it every single week. Had I not really leaned into what it was that people really need right now and finding to navigate it in the climate that we have where it’s just not accessible for people to come out to our office. It’s not safe for them to come out to our office, they don’t feel safe. We found a new innovative way to continue to show our patients and our future patients how committed we are to their health and well-being, how committed we are to them staying as healthy as possible. And how innovative we will continue to be to support them.
Our scheduling has only increased the more we shut down. Our revenues are only going up the longer this lockdown is happening and that’s because we have this consistent message of showing up for our people and finding new ways to deliver content to them, to deliver the treatment to them in a way that is safe, that is ok by everyone. And this idea just became such a huge piece of how we are now moving forward with every single new patient. Now when we invite them back in for their wellness checkup once a year, they may not want to come in but they sure as hell will buy a kit and do it at home. Who doesn’t love some sort of cool science experiment that you get to do at home that you’ve never done before that gives you instant results on how your body is functioning and how you are functioning and answers a lot of questionable things. People love that stuff and that’s exactly what we are delivering to them. And we are still getting people emailing every single day off of that one email that I sent out and they want these kits. They’re so leaned into it.
And that was the other amazing take away that I have is it was effortless. It has required me no extra energy to let people know that this existed. It has required me no extra energy than writing one or two emails to just let people know one; that we had this idea and two; how much it’s going to cost. That’s literally the amount of effort that went into pitching or marketing this idea to my audience on social media. A lot of the energy has been executing now because I didn’t in my wildest dreams think that it would be this big of a success so quickly. But I love that it’s another evergreen piece that we can put into our patient journey. Because how we want our patients to go with us is the first visit initial, second visit is the wellness check and then the third visit is the GAT phase then the adrenal phase and then the maintenance phases. And the wellness phase was always a tough sell, because people don’t want to come in for something that isn’t going to directly benefit them. And now this gives an opportunity to do something from home, they still get support from the back end virtually or in office and they’re just loving it.
So my recommendation is this, if you don’t have a good system put it in place where you’re spending $120 a week in a place where you can really start to put your content in front of your audience you need to set that up. If you aren’t then looking at the metrics and the data on your Facebook ads manager, at the end of every single week to see what’s landing, to see what people want to hear more from you, to see what people are really interested in. then I encourage you to do that and put that on your schedule. So I have it auto-scheduled every Sunday when I do all of my metrics for the week, look at our totals for the week. Set-up our weekly board for our team meeting on Monday. That is just ongoing every single Sunday I carve out an hour to do that. And then take time every single day 5 min, 10 min, 15 min to turn off your thinking mind to practice just being silent. If you have a muse headband use that, if you have other methods of practicing meditation or hypnotherapy or something like that, lean in to those recordings. Wireless connection. More than not, I have seen how slowing myself down, quieting myself down. Listening to what my audience actually wants has been what has driven the needle the fastest in our business.
We are on a higher trajectory REM rate this year than we ever have been and this is in the worst climate that we’ve ever had. This is more employee expenses than I ever had, but I’m working at a level that I need to be as a CEO of that business. And we all have 10 min that we can spare, as I said it will not happen during the day, it will definitely not happen in the morning because the morning is chaos at our house. Getting the girls off to school and everything else, I do it right before bed. I go up to bed a little bit early, I sit in my room, put my muse headband on or some sort of meditation and I just quiet the thinking mind. And I always have my journal next to me for when this ideas come up. And it’s just amazing, you don’t know what you have been blocking yourself from receiving until you do the work.
Now with regards to the systems and putting together the tech, and the structure and all of that, that’s where I come in. I have this gift of being able to see how things can fit and simplifying things down and connecting all the tech pieces so you don’t have to be bugged down or blocked. Blocked is probably the better thing to say to stop you from now working on that new idea and executing on that new idea and getting real results from people as you execute on it how you need to make it better, or change it, or piv it a little bit. You don’t get that information until you actually put it out there and exercise it and revamp and tweak and all of these things. You do it all the time with your own self as a health and wellness practitioner as a coach, as a nutritionist. You’re trying to make yourself better and the only reason how you need to get better is because you are outing yourself to more and more people. It’s the same thing with your programs, it’s the same thing with emailing, and it’s the same thing with social media. But the data gives us the roadmap as to how well we are executing on these ideas. If it’s a good idea, if it’s not, should we be leaning more into this, should we be really though digestion was the thing but everybody wants to hear about auto-immunity. When you talk about auto-immunity that’s when people work up, you can bring digestion in to auto-immunity but this is the tiny tweak or piv that you need to make.
You won’t know that not until you start collecting the data and being really responsible about the actions that you are taking.
