Prioritize Your Time to Stop Overwhelm – PPP: 099
Starting a health and wellness practice is challenging, and the to do list is not short. Want to know how to stop the feeling of overwhelm, prioritize your time, and get back to the feelings of focus and getting things done? This episode is for you.
You’ve hung your shingle! Congrats!
Now brace yourself – here comes the never-ending TO DO list…
In this episode, I discuss how to cope with and stop paralyzing overwhelm as a new practitioner, prioritize your time, and start getting things done.
TBH, it’s an ongoing question that a both new a seasoned practitioners ask… a lot! Whether they are in one of my programs or whether they are talking to me on of my free strategy calls that I offer, this tends to be one of the most common questions that people ask me.
No doubt, there is a lot of pressure and noise competing for our attention and time when you become a business owner. It IS overwhelming to contemplate having to check off ALL THE THINGS. Things like:
- creating your website,
- doing blogs,
- posting on social media,
- patient research,
- continuing ed,
- accounting,
- networking
- … blah, blah, blah.
Welcome to entrepreneurship – overwhelm comes with the territory. But please recognize that really the experience of overwhelm comes down to anxiety around this uncertainty: “Where should I be putting my time?”
For instance, if what you need right now in your business is to get appointment bookings, then you shouldn’t be spending your time holed up in your clinic building your website. You should be spending you time interacting with ACTUAL PEOPLE and doing whatever you can to help them a little bit – this means creating a freebie and sharing it via social media and live video. It means seminars/lunch and learns/talks. Yes, other things will fall to the wayside, but the art of business – knowing which things must be done and which can wait.
So, if this is resonating with you at all, you’re going to want to listen to this episode:
In This Episode:
- [3:33] How your website is the WRONG project to focus on as a new practitioner.
- [6:00] The key marketing tactic that WILL quickly bring in new patients (and cash flow) to your practice as a new practitioner.
- [11:29] Two additional marketing channels that are patient winners for a new practitioner. (HINT: It’s still not your website.)
After you’ve listened to the episode, I would love to hear your thoughts.
