Hey, everyone, thank you for listening to another episode of the profitable practice Podcast. I am, of course, your host, Andrea, and I’m so grateful to have you here. I don’t know about you guys. But I found the energy in July and August. While still a great performing couple of months. For us, it typically is in our business. It was very strange energy. There’s a lot of weird stuff that was going down, my tech was crashing all over the place. If you’ve been watching me on my stories, we did this branded protocol live training, which I shared with you kind of a snippet of last week in the podcast or two weeks ago, and the Facebook ad crashed our website. So it was down for a week, my credit cards were all over the place. So, I had to get new credit cards so that I could continue to run ads. I don’t know people were triggered by our ads more than ever before. So, it was a very humbling couple of months. It was very weird. With regards to communication, it was very weird energy. So, if you guys felt that too, I want you to let me know, just send me a @AndreaMaximND because I don’t feel like I’m alone in this. It was very much and I was doing a little bit of research into where the lunar energy was. And there was something that I read and guys, I’m not proficient in this. So, I apologize, but something about where the moons were in the certain zodiac signs. And it was really about clarity, it was about breaking down and getting rid of the things that you shouldn’t be using that you’ve been ignoring, bringing more abundance and clarity to what you should be doing. And when I reflect on all the weird stuff that went down, I could totally see that being true. Were the technology that I was running on my website through GoDaddy which I would not recommend to anybody that was our hosting domain could not handle the bandwidth which if our whole goal is to scale our business then I need to know that sooner than later so I can host my website on a better platform and the communication issues with patients and with running our ads really helped me understand the emotional state that people are in and how it really polarizing triggering ad, which we’ve been running for five years and last year we did like a 40x return on was not what’s okay for the way things are in this moment. So, I can totally see that.
One of the really cool things though that happened in July I started working with Alicia MacPherson in her aligned influence course that she ran because as you guys remember hopefully you remember my word for 2021 was manifest that’s really where I’ve been putting my intention is how can I show up better how can I show up as that high six-figure earner’s seven-figure earner How can I start being more magnetic? How can I start attracting people more through energy work and let go of a lot of the tactical stuff like getting out of the tactical, the funnels, you know the clicky work, and really get into that higher-level purpose-driven work?
So, I’ve been working on it, and I would say as soon as school ended and I was done being a full time stay at home remote learning teacher with my children, an identity that I was resistant to that literally made me feel depressed come June like I was just not in a good headspace. As soon as school was over, and the girl started to go into full-time camps. Oh my God, my energy was lifted like on that very first day. I really wanted to step into that energetic place.
So when you are more aligned with your services, When you are more aligned with your business when you’re more aligned with your message, which is why messaging is so huge, which is why it is an absolute Keystone part of what I want to teach all of my Maximizer practitioner members, my elite-level members, you need to really work on putting that stake in the ground and creating your own ecosystem. And that allows you to get rid of the chaos and the franticness and the overwhelm of how do I post today? What am I supposed to talk about? So, one of the things with regards to alignment is also recognizing the aligned people that you want to attract. And if you are coming into the business, where you are frantic and anxious, and worried and feeling like an imposter, and feeling like you shouldn’t be attracting certain people because you don’t have your stuff together, you’re absolutely going to start to attract that energy, you’re going to attract those people, or you’re quite frankly, just going to repel them repel everybody because you’re in a state of not service, you’re in a state of panic when you start getting more grounded and aligned with what it is that you’re offering. It’s amazing how aligned people start to be attracted to you. Right, what you’re putting out into the universe, is what you’re going to get back in spades.
So going through this work and dealing with the craziness that was going on in July, I had my very first experience of showing up in a very humble, very grounded, and very unapologetic way. I had to deal with a lot of trolls on those Facebook ads. And instead of immediately just deleting the comment that triggered me, I leaned into it, I leaned into the objections, I leaned into their concerns, I leaned into their worries, I leaned into why that Facebook ad did not resonate with them and wrote a beautiful, authentic response kind of debunking everything that they were saying and left it there and let it ride. And people started responding to my response in a positive way. So that was the first time that I didn’t get all triggered by a troll. I didn’t shut down my Facebook ads, I really leaned into the objection. And it worked out beautifully. And it taught me a lot too, right. The other thing was, we were really promoting using teachers, teachers have their insurance that lapses at the end of August. So, we were really trying to onboard a lot of teachers, and they have usually a pretty good insurance plan. So that can also sometimes attract people that aren’t aligned but want to take us up on our offer.
So, there’s one lady who wanted to book her husband in, we all know when wives book their husbands in it’s already starting off on a bad foot because the men typically don’t want to be there. They’ll just say, Yeah, well, my wife booked this appointment. So, she started engaging in our online chat. We booked a lot of new patients through that free online chat system. So, a woman was engaging me. But she was starting to really shift the power control. She was really starting to dictate to me what we could do in our office, she was telling me what she was not willing to do what her husband would not be willing to do. Being like, well, we’re only coming in for this issue. This is all that we want. We don’t want you to ask questions. We don’t want you to do an intake, we don’t want you to do physical examinations. And normally being in that unaligned sort of like, well, I just want the booking sort of energetic state, I would have been like, yep, no problem will totally cave to your demands. And we’ll meet you exactly where you want us to.
And I sat there going back and forth with this woman. And it got to the point where I could see the red flags starting to show up. And she was really getting very pushy about her expectations and what she was doing what she knew her husband would be willing to do. And I knew at that point, I could take it one of two ways. I could either cave and get the booking and hopefully, like cross my fingers hope that it all works out. Or I could hold firm to our methodology to the way we want to treat patients. And I just said to her as she was going on and on. I said look, this is how we conduct business. This is how we support our patients. These are non-negotiables and it sounds to me like you’re just not the right fit and I don’t think your husband’s going to be the right fit either. As soon as I posted that energetically, the power shift immediately changed. And the conversation immediately changed. And it put me back into a power stance, it put me back into the place of, you know, I’m inviting you into my world, it’s not the other way around, we’re not catering to you, we’re inviting you into our clinic, and you need to kind of abide by our medical practice and our expertise. And she immediately shifted the way she was communicating with me in the chat. Instead of telling me what to do, she all of a sudden was like, Oh, well, I can, you know, totally changed her tune and started leaning into more of what we were talking about. And eventually, she did end up booking, but it was on a totally different playing field than if I booked it out of that desperation, just I need the booking, versus now you’re booking in because you’re totally getting our approach. And it was just an amazing experience, just shifting the control. And also experiencing that I don’t need this sale, I don’t need this individual that badly. You’re obviously unaligned or you’re just not getting it and you think that you know, you’re the person who’s hiring me. And that is not the case. And it was the first time where I really stood my ground and said, Look, you know, we don’t need you, we only want aligned individuals coming into our business. And I’m fine to walk away from this conversation. And even though we took the booking anyway, it was coming from a much different energetic space.
The same thing happened with my husband. So since and I’m so grateful for this, since hiring team members for all of my clinic locations back in October. So before things got really crazy before I needed to, before school was like completely obsolete for the rest of the school year, I wanted to step into that place of the high level of joy of happiness. And so come January 1, I was completely out of one on one consultations, I went from being a slave to my calendar to now having maybe one or two calls a week with a patient, only on the days that I decide only on the hours that I decide it is a tremendous upgrade to my life to my mental well being. But because I made this shift, it also opened up my husband to be able to work on his landscaping business full time. Because before our dynamic was my clinic, hours control all the kids, we can put them into daycare or a camp or something like that. But then you have to leave your site, pick up the kids so that I can stay in the office. And so he was basically taking a backseat, his business was taking a backseat. So this year was the first year where he could go all in and put all of his focus on work, which was amazing. And he’s had such a fantastic season, the same thing started to happen with him. He was working with a new client. And the new client started to pick apart the contract and started to pick apart how things were going to happen. And she’s going to say, well, I’m going to save money here, because I’m going to have my husband help you do some of the dig-outs, or we’re going to use our own material. And she started dictating the conversation. And so based on my experience, I said, Scott, this is something I would encourage you to exercise, talked to her on the phone, or talk to her in person and just continue to engage in the conversation. But at some point, in time, with all these red flags going off with now the control is completely flipped. You need to bring that control back. And you need to eventually say to yourself, is this person worth it? You know, its great money, but is this person worth it? So he got to that point in the conversation and finally shifted the power and said, You know what, this is how I run my landscaping company. I’ve been doing landscaping for 20 years. We don’t do things the way that you’re asking to maybe we’re just not the right fit. Maybe you should just go find another landscaping company instantly, just like the way I experienced the power struggle shifted back to now Scott was commanding his role as the service provider. She is now back into being the client and she totally caved and totally leaned back and shifted the entire conversation to I totally get it thank you so much for answering my all my questions. I’m so thrilled that we’re going to be working together. And Scott came out of that conversation in a totally different energetic state. Meaning for him to he exercises I don’t need to take on every single client that comes my way. My business is my business. And I want to bring in the people that I’m most aligned with.
So the point of this conversation for you guys, is if you are not exercising or in full alignment with your business, and you’re just still taking everybody that comes across your path, knowing full well, the moment you read their intake form, or have them in front of you in an intake, that they are not the right person, I would encourage you to exercise this practice of just being like, you know what, I just don’t think that we’re the right fit at least once this week, and share with me in my DMS @AndreaMaximND what that experience was like for you, you, you know exactly who we’re talking about, and you’re going to know exactly who we’re talking about when you’re in that space. And I want you to practice that, I want you to say, look, this is the way I do things, these are my rates, this is how it’s going to go down. If this doesn’t work for you. So cool.
You know, there are other attendees or other healthcare practitioners that you might be better aligned with. And that is so fine. Let’s just call it and see how that changes the relationship, see how that changes the dynamic, if they end up walking away, you probably saved yourself a ton of headaches, if they end up leaning into the power shift, then you are in a much more authoritative state going into the relationship which is going to pay off for both of you. Because they need to recognize that you’re the authority, you’re the expert. And that’s why they are coming to you. Because you have the knowledge, it is not the other way around, you’re not serving them in a passive way. You’re the one who’s in control of the whole process. So, exercise this, try this. And then continue to lean into this energetic alignment continue to lean into this new way of putting your foot down for what you want your business to look like.
