You Can Still Create A Program And Stay Within Your Regulations [Ep #183]
In this episode of the Profitable Practice Podcast, I’m breaking down that it is absolute possible for you to create and Online Program and stay within regulations, Stay Tuned!
DO NOT STOP YOURSELF FROM MOVING FORWARD BECAUSE OF THE REGULATIONS.
As we build an Online Program or Course we usually think of negativities and often stop ourselves for the reason that the Regulatory Board could be the hindrance. However, there is always a good answer and solution to this, we can always build an Online Program that is within our Regulations!
In this episode, I am going to elaborate on the things that we need to prioritize and do first before we target the huge population. Hence, we try to create first the program and test it to work before going into random clients to ensure that the Program is working and viable. It will always be the mental boundaries we create to ourselves that stop us from moving forward, therefore, we eliminate them.

On this episode of the profitable practice podcast I’m breaking down that it is absolutely possible for you to create an online program and stay within your regulations. Stay tuned.
Hey there! My health and wellness practitioner people that are probably thinking about creating a program. I’ve had so many people this week reach out to me either via email or direct message with regards to how they can either create it online program. How they can create a program that reaches beyond the regulatory boundaries because I know a lot of my naturopaths. We have regulations, we have legal boundaries that we can only practice within. And then of course, how can you make more money? How can you start attracting a wider base of clientele, patients or clients?
And so I thought I would just come on and talk about this because number one; especially for those that are very afraid to create something. Most likely you are sick and tired of feeling like you can’t do things, that someone’s going to slap your hand the second you out in those effort into creating something. And the answer is that it isn’t. There isn’t a regulatory boards and whoever you are being regulated by, they’re not doing it or creating those regulations to stop you from making revenue. Or to stop you from having a successful practice. But the number one thing that I find is we spend all this time complaining and worrying and wondering and being this fear mode that we don’t create anything. And so that’s of course my number one pet peeve is that people do all the thinking, they create drama, and they create these stories behind it and don’t even bother or try to execute it.
We have created the maximized health method online program, and I am so comfortable promoting that program with patients and new patients just within my province of Ontario. This need to step outside of your boundaries, I sometimes wonder, is because you think you’re going to strike it rich if you go beyond your regulatory boundaries. Do you think that’s going to make a huge difference to your practice? I don’t know. Certainly within my ten years of working, I’ve had a number of people from the states or the provinces want to work with me and I’ve just happily said ‘no I can’t, not outside of my legal boundaries but here’s a referral, or here’s my course if you want to purchase my program. I just can’t offer you any one on one medical advice.’ And that has been completely fine with me. I don’t think in my small little area of let’s say 30 or 50 kl radius, I have tapped in to all of those people. I know for a fact that I have not tapped into just with in my 30 to 40 to 50 kilometer radius of my clinics. That those people alone are going to have a massive benefit or a massive change to my revenue. If I just focus on local, let alone my entire province.
So that is the first question that I wanted to ask you. But where is need, and it’s probably because of all the online course creators etc. where is this need for you to automatically; number one, you hadn’t created anything. You haven’t tested it with your current patient base that your next step is going to be ‘you have to go to all of America, all of a sudden.’ You have to just put yourself into this massive ocean. I would much rather a big fish in a small pond, than a small fish in an ocean of people that are trying to do all of the same things. So before trying to go huge and broad and really expand your net; why don’t you try number 1; creating a program, creating the coaching system that you want to be creating. Creating what those steps are going to be and test it with the current patient or clients that you already have. Make sure that its working, make sure that those pieces are going to be effective when you start reaching out to absolute strangers in states or provinces well beyond where you are now. Because that automatically starts to slow people down. ‘Well if I can’t do it in all of North America, there’s no point in doing it.’ I encourage you to refrain that and say ‘the money and the abundance is all around you even 5 kl or 5 miles from where you are, there are ton of people that you have been tapped into that could use this online program. That could use this coaching program that you want to create and then you don’t have to worry about going beyond your regulations or getting flagged or anything like that.
However, if you know that your heart of hearts that you really want to expand your network and you really go beyond our outside of the regulations. You have a few easy ways that you can do this. One, when we created the maximized health method program, I intentionally created it where it is just basic information focused on the health concerns and health conditions that we treat. Knowing that I could offer that program to anyone and it would never be misconstrued as individualized medical advice or any sort of one on one consultation-like process, none of that was part of it. I intentionally created that course, no different than it was a really long in-person or online seminar or webinar. When you create things that way with that intention, it takes a lot of the fear away. Now we created that program so that anybody could purchase the program. But we also did it so that we could take those people that onboarded into the program and upsell them into our virtual or in-office clinics.
So that was always the intention, but if you really want to make sure that you can hit a wider ray of people and you’re worried about going outside of your regulatory boundaries. Then one, you have a course or a program that people got through that is very much basic information but very scientific-based, it is still giving a tremendous amount of value. People can still take it away and start making some changes and you could collectively start put those people into a Facebook group for instance. And you could do live Q&A coaching calls once a month or once a week or every day if you want to those people. But when you are answering these questions in a group setting and a group collective, you are also then eliminating the one on one consultation type of atmosphere where people aren’t really going to tell you all of the personal things. They’re not going to list all of their medications, they’re not giving you that sense of they’re becoming your patient, because that isn’t the essence of the Facebook group that you have created.
And even simpler yet, another thing that trips people up is well ‘I now have to buy kajabi or thinkific, or teachable to host my course.’ The Facebook groups now are so advanced that you could literally put all of your material into units inside the Facebook group and it won’t cause you a thing. There’s no monthly charge, yes it is Facebook and you always had to be prepared that Facebook could shut down at some point in time, but you could save your own videos to your own hard drive. But you can post all of the videos and units inside that Facebook group and create a really beautiful community. There is no regulatory board that says you can’t have a Facebook group. That you can’t be offering wellness information to strangers, so long as there is no miscommunication that you are not offering personalized medical advice, that you are not taking any of them into a one-on-one type of setting. Because then, yeah, you are starting to get into this potential red flag area.
But those two things alone have completely now gotten rid of those objections that you’re having about how to create these online programs. How to widen your net and I think the boundaries that we set up for ourselves mentally is stopping us from moving forward even within our small population of people that are near us, that have already worked with us, that is already known to like and trust us. And we immediately feel restricted by the fact that we don’t think we can make more revenue. That we can get a lot more people coming into our world and into our community. It’s actually very simple. You made us need to take your ego out of it a little bit where you are going to step away from the practitioner role for those patients or clients you can’t legally treat or help. But you can still offer them support. You can still offer them a tremendous amount of health information. And if possible, you can upsell them to either work with you within your boundaries or you can start hiring coaches. And this is where the whole thing of moving into a team environment also becomes very easy and a lot less scary. And you are still providing a tremendous amount of support. But again you are not the one who is having to show up and do that every single time.
You can hire health coaches, you can hire life coaches, and you can hire nutritionists to do all of that amazing work for you in the way you want them to. And therefore feel that you are not missing out on any potential revenues or any potential revenue-generating opportunities. So I just implore you that, do not stop yourself prematurely thinking that you can’t or your regulatory board doesn’t want you to or it’s so black and white because it isn’t. There always a lot of grey within the regulations of what we can do as licensed practitioners. You just have to be able to work within them, maybe take a little bit of your ego out of it, and understand that there is a ton of opportunity still literally in your neighborhood that you haven’t tapped into. But we’re now thinking so big because other people are doing it when you don’t know the struggles. It’s a struggle to try to now tap into this ocean of people, that if you don’t have your messaging dialed down if you don’t have your Facebook Ad knowledge dialed down if you don’t have all of these things dialed in. then it’s not like you can just cast in it, and all of a sudden you’re just going to be hella famous and a millionaire it just doesn’t work that way.
But there are steps that you can be taking right now for free that I worry that you are not taking because you think that you can’t. And I would love to talk with anybody who wants more advice, who wants more support on how you can make this happen. Because you absolutely can. It may not be a hundred percent of the way that you thought that you could or that you want to but I think getting 90% of the way is still an A+, and that is still pretty damn good. So I’m going to put a link where you can book a call with me, I’m also going to put a link where you can download my maximized practitioner handbook which talks about some of these success blockers that you might need to work through these limiting beliefs. These stories that you’re telling yourself, that you probably need to work through. And then of course DM me, send me messages, emails, whatever because I don’t want you waiting another year, 2, years, 3 years, 5 years to put your message out there and start helping people. Because that was why you got into this profession, to begin with. I’m Andrea Maxim and I’m out.
